CASHFLOW 2.0
The Rat Race board game as a live mobile economy.
What it is
A mobile take on the Rat Race. To leave it, your passive income has to beat your expenses; on the Fast Track you win by buying your Dream or adding $50,000 a month of new passive income. Unlike the board game’s frozen market, here the economy lives.
What I changed
- An exchange terminal instead of deal cards. Stocks, crypto, bonds and real estate, open at any time. Prices move at the end of every round, each asset has its chart and trend, and an asset that hits $0 is frozen until something revives it.
- Debts that amortize. Mortgage payments reduce the principal every round, so selling through an Announcement pays more the longer you hold.
- Local and global events. Migration raises every rent, a bubble crashes crypto, a CEO’s post sinks one stock.
- The maths on screen. Cash flow, passive income and ROI are recalculated after every move, so the player learns the formulas by watching them.
What I did
The GDD, the UI, the data for companies, stocks, professions and cards in JSON, and a multiplayer roadmap: a Wi-Fi host that keeps news and prices in sync first, then cloud servers and leaderboards.
